Joshua Tree National Park - Two deserts with two completely different ecosystems come together to form Joshua Tree National Park. The Colorado Desert encompasses the eastern part of the park and features creosote bush, ocotillo, and cholla cactus. The moister and cooler Mojave Desert makes up the western part of the park and is the special habitat for the Joshua Tree. Visitors have endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Activities include auto touring, backpacking, biking, bird watching, climbing, hiking, and horseback riding. Interpretive programs and ranger-led tours are also offered. Facilities available include a nature center, visitor's center, flush toilets, telephones, a bookstore, and beverages.

Twentynine Palms - An Oasis of Murals - Located in Southern California's High Desert near Joshua Tree National Park, Twentynine Palms, California has long been a destination for visitors seeking pleasant weather and endless vistas of the desert. Today, the town features 20 unique murals capturing the people, history, and variety of cultures that have occupied the area. A tour of the murals will reveal portraits of homesteaders, scenes of everyday life, Native American life, and mural of the native flora and fauna, and much more. Be sure to visit the Mural Gallery & Gifts, located on 29 Palms Hwy. in the heart of downtown, and pick up a unique souvenir.

Tahquitz Canyon
Indian Canyons - Palm Canyon, Andreas Canyon, Murray Canyon, and the Tahquitz Canyon all make up the Indian Canyons located throughout the Palm Springs area. The canyons and associated resources are especially sacred to the Indians today and are historically important to scientists and nature lovers. All of the canyons are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. There are several types of tours available for hikes and equestrian enthusiasts, as well as jeep tours. View indigenous flora and fauna, hike scenic foot trails, enjoy a picnic in the canyons, or catch a glimpse of peninsula Big Horn Sheep. New programs and events are constantly being added for adventurous adults and kids.

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center
MCAGCC - The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center is located just three miles from Twentynine Palms Resort and one of the largest Marine bases in the world. The Marine Corps has its Communications-Electronics School, the 7th Marine Regiment, Combat Service Support Group-1, Air Ground Support Element and a Naval Hospital stationed on base. Take a tour and learn a part of our military's history. Retired and active military enjoy and appreciate the Resort¿s proximity to all the base has to offer, including a golf course!
